Future Act Mining & Exploration

The NQLC provides services in respect of future acts throughout the claim process (registration of a claim secures certain ‘procedural rights’ that the native title claimant group can exercise) and post determination. These services are provided through the Future Act Mining and Exploration (FAME) Unit.

In addition to issuing future act notices (FANs) and representing native title groups in their dealings with future act proponents, the FAME Unit also provided capacity development activities to support, strengthen and consolidate their administrative and management practices especially in the context of dealing with third parties.

For further information or to speak with a member of our FAME Unit, please contact the head office of the North Queensland Land Council on 07 4042 7000.
