Gudjala People Native Title Claim #4 Authorisation Meeting
GUDJALA PEOPLE NATIVE TITLE CLAIM #4 AUTHORISATION MEETING
This is a notice inviting all members of the Gudjala People to attend a meeting to be held at the time and place set out below for the purposes of authorising a person or persons to be the applicant to make the Gudjala People native title claimant application #4 and to deal with all matters arising in relation to it.
The Claim Area of the proposed Gudjala People #4 native title claim covers the land and waters within the external boundary shown on the map below. The Claim Area adjoins the southern boundary of the claim area of the Gudjala People native title claim (QUD 121/2023) which was filed in the Federal Court of Australia on 30 March 2023. The Claim Area also covers part of the claim area of the Jangga People #2 native title claim (QUD 387/2018).

The Gudjala People are the descendants (including through adoption or raising up in accordance with traditional laws and customs) of the following ancestors:
- Alice Anning (also known as Alice White) of Bluff Downs Station;
- Cissy McGregor;
- Maggie “Ton Ton” Thomson;
- Topsy Hann; and
- Zoe (mother of Hoya Siemon/ Bowman).

The authorisation meeting will be held at the PCYC Charters Towers at 29/35 Enterprise Road, Charters Towers QLD 4820 over 2 days:
Date: Friday 13 February 2026
Time: 3:00pm – 5:00pm – Registration from 2:30pm
Agenda: The presentation of the research findings by consultant anthropologist Dr Kevin Mayo followed by a discussion about the Authorisation of the proposed Gudjala People #4 native title claim over the proposed Claim Area.

Time: 10:00am to 5:00pm – Registration from 9:30am
Agenda:
- Further discussion about the proposed Gudjala People #4 native title claim andthe proposed Claim Area.
- The authorisation of a person or persons to be the Applicant to make theGudjala People #4 native title claim over the proposed Claim Area and to dealwith all matters arising in relation to it.
- The authorisation of any conditions of the appointment of the Applicant.
